It’s the new year and many people want to eat healthier. Are you one of them?
I could talk all day about healthy eating choices, like consuming less sugar, fewer carbs, portion control, etc. (I wrote about some easy changes you can make here.)
But what trips most people up is that, after they decide to make some changes, they fail to plan ahead.
Without a plan, your impulses will likely trump your good intentions.
Impulsive Eating
Impulsively eating often equals bad choices. Have you ever gone grocery shopping when you are really hungry? You spend too much and open that bag of Cheetos before you even get home!
I get it. I’m an impulsive person. It’s easier to grab whatever is around, but that’s not usually a very healthy option. Convenience food is typically highly processed, full of sugar or salt, and a bunch of chemicals you can’t pronounce. I say, “If you can’t pronounce it, you probably shouldn’t be eating it. And your body likely can’t digest it properly either.”
Whether you like it or not, eating healthier requires some planning ahead.
Planning Ahead
The idea of sitting down and planning out my meals sounds as much fun as a trip to the dentist.
That’s why I’m so in love with Wildtree. I have confidently been using the Wildtree grocery lists and meal plans for over 8 years.
Wildtree uses a registered dietitian and chefs to make their culinary blends, sauces, recipes, and custom meal plans. They take the guesswork and stress out of meal time. Wildtree has a FREE menu planning App and a tool on their website.
You can create a custom meal plan that works for you and your entire family. Maybe you are like me and having a meal planning app sounds nice but still like a lot of work. Then you might want to take the H2 Challenge with me.
Take The Challenge
Wildtree just debuted their H2 Challenge – 21 days to healthier habits. I knew that this was just what I needed to kick my new year off right!
It’s 21 days of breakfast, lunch, and dinner all planned out. Amazing right?! The goal of the plan is to create new healthy habits; meal prep, drinking more water, and positive self talk. The Wildtree groceries are gluten free, dairy free, and no sugar added. The meal plan can be customized to fit your specific dietary preferences.
You get a grocery shopping list for the entire 21 days. It’s broken down into breakfast, lunch, and dinners. The dinners are all MAKE AHEAD. At the beginning of the challenge you prep 21 days of dinners and put them into the freezer so there is no question of “what’s for dinner.”
Meal planning is key to a healthy lifestyle. You’ve heard this before, but here is an opportunity to actually do it!
